Amanda and Jesse’s same sex wedding at Carmen’s in Hamilton, Ontario, makes it the third wedding in this lovely family that we have had the honour of photographing. The first was Jackie and Greg at The Ancaster Mill, and the second was Sarah and Ryan at The Grand Olympia. All of which were unique and amazing in their own ways.
The West Family is one of the coolest families we know! We also went on to photograph Jackie and Sarah’s newborn babies, and their families throughout the years. They also have referred numerous family members and friends for family portraits and newborn photos.
The love between Amanda and Jesse is beyond apparent, and the details they put into their wedding expressed that love! Carmen’s Banquet Centre offered such a great venue for Amanda and Jesse’s Same Sex Wedding. We have photographed many weddings over the years at Carmen’s, however this was the first time we took all the formal photos at the same location, and also that the ceremony was performed there as well! The ceremony up on top the roof was just perfect! We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather. We took the formal photos before the ceremony began, and a couple photos by the fountain and some family and wedding party photos after the ceremony before the reception as well!
One of the details we loved in Amanda and Jessie’s wedding was that the bridesmaids all had different coloured bouquets, so when they stood together represented the rainbow flag, a symbol commonly know as the gay pride flag and of the LGBT social movement. The colours represent the diversity of the LGBT community. If there is anything that Gibson Photography loves it is the little details that represent the couple being showcased throughout their wedding!
Amanda and Jesse had so many sweet personal touches throughout their wedding, and loved that they had a Photo Booth set up so their guests could take momentos home of their loved ones who helped celebrate this beautiful union between this amazing couple. Mike and I even took our turn in the booth!
