I am so happy that I got to meet this amazing couple, and had the honour of photographing their Ancaster Mill Wedding! As you have probably seen if you have looked through my blog, we have done quite a few Ancaster Mill Weddings. In fact, I would have to say the Ancaster Mill is probably the venue we photograph at the most, and it never gets old! It is such an amazing venue to photograph a wedding. It offers onsite ceremony locations, both indoor and the new indoor chapel. The scenery is stunning! And the food is amazing! So if you are looking for an amazing wedding venue, The Ancaster Mill is definitely somewhere you should look at!
Catherine and Shawn decided to have a first look. I really do love doing first looks. It gives the couple that time alone together to just see each other. I find it to be a very romantic and intimate time between the couple. I have done a few first looks before and they are always such a pleasure. Catherine and Shawn had a stunning waterfall as their backdrop for the first look.
We then headed over to the Mill for their Ancaster Mill Wedding. Their ceremony was outside by the creek, with so many personal touches! I also loved that they had an “unplugged” wedding. The couple hires a photographer to capture this special time in their lives, and often people get in the way and interrupt a shot that is usually just a split second. The couple wants you to enjoy the wedding, not be preoccupied with taking photos. If you are getting married, seriously consider having an unplugged wedding.
Catherine and Shawn are very adventurous, and I love that they incorporated lots of those aspects throughout their Ancaster Mill Wedding. They decided to do a rope tying ceremony, which was absolutely beautiful.
After the ceremony we took some formal photos. While we were photographing, one of the chef’s was picking herbs from the garden to use in the preparation of the wedding dinner. So of course I had to take a photo of it!
The reception had so many beautiful personal touches, including a choreographed fist dance that this amazing couple rocked! We ended the evening with some night photos, and even some with sparklers.
