I had the great honour of photographing Baby Lola’s arrival into the world on our Civic Holiday Monday, August 5, 2013 at 7:24 pm. It truly was an experience I will never forget. I have been in the delivery room for a birth before, but it was a long time ago, and this was my first time capturing this joyous occasion for the proud parents. It was such a beautiful experience to be able to be a part of something that is truly a miracle.
Mom Leslie and Mom Alison arrived at the hospital at 12:00 noon, I arrived a few hours later. Leslie was about 4 centimetres when I arrived, and after a few more hours they broke her water at 4:30 pm. Once that happened things got a little more intense for Leslie who decided to get an epidural (honestly I don’t know how she lasted that long). She started pushing at about 6:20, and Miss Lola Brinley was born at 7:24 pm weighing 8lbs 15 oz.
