This sweet little girl came in for her Children’s Portrait Session, along with some photos with mom and dad of course! She was such a sweetheart! She did fantastic for her session. Although, she made me work for her smiles, she was all too happy to give them to mom and dad…well she did make them work for her too!
Children’s Portrait Sessions are one of my favourites to do. Indoor Sessions or Outdoor Sessions, it really doesn’t matter, they all make my heart happy! The best time to do these types of sessions are when they are sitting, but not yet walking, so typically between six months to one year. Once they start walking they don’t want to sit still for photos. This time is such a precious time for Children’s Portrait Session because they have all those super awesome rolls and big beautiful smiles, their eyes sparkle and it’s just such a fun time! I think this age range has to be probably my favourite age, not just for photos but in general. They are usually super happy, so interactive, you can just see the intent to learn so much and explore new things, just by looking into their eyes. The giggles, the mumbles and even the tears such emotion for such a tiny little being! How can you not want to capture this time? There is no need for a crazy amount of props for these Children’s Portrait Sessions, although we do have a lot of props, I just think some of the best photos are the simplest. Just the baby! Of course it is also a great time to get family photos done as well! These photos are for you to look back at for many, many years to come, but when your baby grows up, they are going to want to look back at the ones with all of you in them as well!
